Prepare for a theatrical finale in Sutton-on-Sea, as the town is transformed after dark into a vibrant world of light, sound and spectacle.
After travelling through Spilsby, Chapel St Leonards and Sandilands, Lightwaves: Lumens of the Lost comes to Sutton-on-Sea for its closing night.
Explore dazzling installations, step into interactive experiences, lose yourself in a silent disco, and discover stories and performances unfolding throughout the evening.
As anticipation builds, the celebrations will reach a dramatic climax with a spectacular lantern parade through Sutton-on-Sea. A procession of hand-made lanterns and community imagination will bring the stories of Lightwaves to life.
We have some exciting surprises planned, so you certainly don’t want to miss this.
Come along, explore the installations, follow the lanterns and experience Sutton-on-Sea lit up after dark.

About Lightwaves
Inspired by the stories of Lincolnshire’s ancient submerged forests, Lightwaves brings together illuminated installations, soundscapes, storytelling and community-created work to explore the relationship between people, place, memory and our changing coastline.
Lightwaves will take place across Spilsby, Chapel St Leonards, Sandilands and Sutton-on-Sea, with each location bringing together different stories as part of one connected journey.

Lightwaves has been developed by Story Tellers, the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership’s Arts Council England-funded National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) project, with support from the East Lindsey Investment Fund. A £20 million scheme launched in 2024 by East Lindsey District Council to improve life for everyone in the district.
The project has been developed in collaboration with creative partners Sessions Arts and features a new artist commission by SDNA.
