Boston Guildhall

A historic cultural hub for Boston

Boston Guildhall is one of the town’s most important buildings. Dating all the way back to the 1390s, it was built for the Guild of St Mary at a time when Boston was one of England’s most powerful ports.

Today, this Grade I listed landmark sits at the heart of the town as a museum and cultural venue, offering a link to the people, events and ideas that have shaped Boston over centuries.

As one of three hubs for the Story Tellers NPO project, Boston Guildhall provides an inspiring setting for exploring history through storytelling.

History, culture and stories

Boston Guildhall plays an important role in supporting the Story Tellers project’s aim to celebrate local voices and shared heritage. Through exhibitions, creative workshops and community activity, the venue helps bring Boston’s stories to life and invites people to see their town in a new way.

It offers space for learning and creativity, allowing different generations to connect with the town’s history, understand what it means for them, and build a sense of pride in their place. By bringing storytelling and cultural activity together, Boston Guildhall encourages a deeper understanding of the town’s identity, both past and present
